Why doesn't my Purchase Key work? Why can't I log in? I have forgotten my report code, what do I do?
If you have ever registered on the site and entered your Purchase Key into the site, you will have been issued a Report Code. It is this Report Code that you now need to enter on the "Continue CES" page. If you have lost your Report Code, you can retrieve it by following the instructions on the "Forget Your Report Code?" page.

What is the difference between my Purchase Key and my Report Code?
Your Purchase Key is used on your first visit to sign up for access to your workbook. It is typicaly given to you by a program staff member or counselor. Once you enter your Purchase Key and some personal information, the web site will give you a Report Code. From now on you do not need to worry about your Purchase Key.
It is important that you write down your Report Code. This is the only piece of information you will need to get into your workbook from now on. After your first visit, you will access your workbook by going to the Continue CES page and entering your Report Code.

Why do you have Purchase Keys and Report Codes?
Privacy. Most people who use this site will be given a Purchase Key by a counselor. Report Codes are like a password to your workbook which the staff member or counselor will not have unless you give it to them. This helps give you control over who sees the information stored in your workbook.

Why are there no jobs or only impractical ones for me?
The Interest Assessment part of the CES is meant only to get you to begin "thinking outside the box" or looking at different opportunities . It is a pure Interest Assessment and is not based on your talents or your skills. It is only a starting point for you to begin a real exploration into new areas, if you so desire. You may ignore it completely.
If you scored high in the Interest Areas of Artistic and Social and/or have a lower job zone (level of training and experience), the jobs are limited. This does not mean there are no jobs for you. It is due to the way the job data was collected.
You have all of the jobs in the entire U.S. Department of Labor data bank (called O*NET) in your CES under the left tab labeled "Browse Jobs." This O*NET data bank cannot keep up with the rapidly changing job market, especially in technical fields and areas of traditional work that have become more technical. You can find more details on emerging jobs as you go to the links at the bottom of each job description. There are several that may help you, such as the link to community colleges and the links to websites at the very end of most jobs within the Occupational Outlook Handbook.
You have vast information under each job description on the skills, abilities, work values, and work environment that apply to each job. Please look at any jobs you want to think about, regardless of your assessment results. The information on the jobs will give you a realistic view of them.
Take time to use this tool. It is a well-thought out process of exploration and planning. Just use any first jobs based on Interest as a beginning or move on to any others that are practical for you.

Where did my answers go that I put into my workbook?
After each box where you can put your answers is a rectangular "Save" button. It is important that you press this if you want your answers to be recorded and be accessible the next time you visit the site. You have to remember to do this for your job search chart to retain the contact information on the jobs you want to pursue.

How long is my data reserved under my Report Code? From what type of computer can I access my information?
Your Report Code should last for one year so you can continue to work through the program. You should be able to access it from any computer with high speed internet and, if you use the audio, one with speakers. If you do not have Macromedia Flash on the computer, you cannot currently use the CES, but Flash can be downloaded free from their website. If you cannot download it, then you may have to ask for assistance from a person who knows the computer system you are using.

I need more help! My question isn't answered, what now?
If you do not find an answer to your question, please try asking your case manager or counselor and have them contact the CES program administrator within their organization. These staff members have been trained to handle most issues and hopefully can get it resolved right away. If you are still having trouble, email us at support@CareerEdgeSystem.com and we will try to respond within 24 hours to help you resolve the issue.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we will strive to assist you the best we can.
